“And perhaps a small surprise,” she implies. “My music is both melodic and lyrically clear and strong. I love the pure melody lines, and there are hints of jazz, bossa and pop in my songs. Preferably with a sensual soundscape. I used to write about loss and conflict resolution, but when a friend asked me why I didn’t write more about how I preferred life to be, I started thinking. The lyrics changed and so did the melodies. They became more major than minor,” she says and laughs, taking another strawberry and praising the Norwegian summer.
Her Own Comedy
Many of the tunes on Venus Envy have topped the charts both in the USA and internationally. The CD has been nominated for several awards, and the last stunt from Caroline is the self-produced comedy, “Queen of Clubs.”
“It’s been a lot of fun, especially since it was received with such enthusiasm from the audience.”
“I have been on stage with dad for years, and this was in a way an organic progression. I might do more in this vein. We’ll see.”
“But Oscarsborg is happening Friday and Saturday. There’ll be no seaman’s songs, but tunes from my CDs and other elements. I think it’ll be nice, the other concerts I have had so far in Norway have been successful, and the framework around the outdoor concerts at Oscarsborg couldn’t be better. The concerts are free, just so that is said, and we have requested the sun and warm weather,” she smilingly adds.
