and had to be rebuilt, her lungs collapsed and parts of her left brain was also put out of commission. Life was turned upside down, followed by posttraumatic stress. She had four extremely difficult years. Her ability to speak was also limited.

- Life took a whole new direction when a dear friend of mine vanished without a trace in the US, in the Nevada desert. I just packed my bags and went there. After a year of searching, I had to give up. I came to a point where I had to choose to live my own life fully, she says with a steady gaze.

Caroline met many wonderful people while looking for her friend, and received several valuable tips, since she was still struggling with the head injury from the accident.

I got, among other things, connected to brain specialist, Margareth Ayers, in Los Angeles and she treated me with a neuro-feedback machine she had invented. After four years of limited ability to think and speak, she had me up and running in less than two months, so I could function at school again. It didn't take long until I had top grades, she explains.

The Power of Music

The plans to become a doctor had been discarded because of the head inury. And because Caroline had discovered the healing power of music on her way to recovery, she decided to educate herself as voice teacher and Vocal Freedom therapist instead. Her mentors have included our own Anne Brown from Porgy & Bess, Sir Ian Adam from London's and Broadway's theater stages and vocal guru, Seth Riggs, who also have taught Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Justin Timberlake.

- I've had some amazing teachers, she says and coninues:

- Opening up, talking, moving and expressing ourselves is incredibly important. We all need to be seen and heard. And it's especially important to reach the invisible wounds, those we can't see but carry on the inside. We need to learn to love ourselves, feel that we actually are good enough, prettty enough and smart enough. Through my injury I got the opportunity to learn to love myself as a human being. To be who I am, if you understand, she says.

The artist, Caroline Waters, has produced a lot of music through the years. She is multi-dimensional, difficult to label. She juggles jazz, blues, pop and musical theatre. A strong and clear voice gets top grades from critics. She plays piano, guitar and violin. Oh yeah, she's no doubt her father's daughter.
