Caroline Waters Mixes Music With Healing

Twenty-five years has passed since Caroline Waters last performance in New York. Back then, she was a teenager, touring with her father, Per Asplin. On Friday October 15th, Waters returns to New York with a concert at the Norwegian Seaman's Church at 8pm.

Accompanying herself on piano and guitar, Ms Waters will perform a blend of heart warming and soul deepening songs, ranging from sensual jazz ballads and tender lullabies to riveting blues and selections from her upcoming musical.

Caroline Waters began her career at age three in Putti Plutti Pott, a Norwegian TV musical which aired on national television every Christmas Eve for two decades. At seven and eight, she toured with the National Theatre of Norway. From age nine to nineteen she played all six lead roles in the musical, Jeg Fant - Jeg Fant, which also became a TV-mini series, hosted by Caroline and her father, Per Asplin, who also played with Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Peterson. The duo toured the world with a variety show and represented Norway on numerous occasions.

After receiving her Green Card as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability in the Arts, Caroline moved to Los Angeles and started her own record company, Redhead Records. Exposed is Caroline's fifth solo album. She also wrote, produced and starred in Queen of Clubs, a musical comedy, which received rave reviews and a six-week run at Masquers Cabaret in West Hollywood. Her film music credits include Skin Deep, The Toured, Blessed Be, Thanksgiving, Runway, Maggie & Annie, Next of Kin and more.

In addition to her career as jazz entertainer and recording artist, Caroline is a passionate advocate for women's rights and teaches a seminar called Vocal Freedom Camp, which is designed to free the voice and heal from post traumatic stress. She has recently finished her first self-biographical novel, titled, Finding Venus, and is working on a companion musical, titled, Come Hell or High Waters.
