– I recommend «The Mountain». The movie about Nora and Solveig who goes to the mountains to try to find their way back to each other as lovers. It recently premiered in Oslo. About the movie with the two lesbian ladies hiking, reporter Ivar Winther has written that this is a film full of truth and hope, a movie that makes you want to go home and become a better lover. I like movies about issues I can relate to and at the same time broadens my perspective.

Musician and composer Caroline Watershas released six CDs and several singles. On Saturday, she gives a concert at Kafé Caffé in Parkveien 21 in Oslo. This is her final intimate concert in this country before she heads out to represent Norway as artist at the «Norway Day Festival» in San Francisco, which begins April 30th. Waters will open the festival, sing the American and Norwegian National anthems, give two concerts at the Main Stage, as well as, several pub performances throughout the festival.

– At the upcoming concert «Caroline, Wine and Song» on Saturday, I will sing and play tunes from my newest CDs and from the musical, "Finding Venus - Come Hell or High Waters". You get to enjoy the music along with Italian wines and niblets from the kitchen, which is included in the ticket price.

– What was your most recent cultural experience?

– The ladies world championship in skijump in Midstubakken was absolutely a fabulous experience .It was especially magical to see the flying heroines as they came soaring out of the fog and landed perfectly only feet away from where we were sitting and enjoying Kollen-dogs and hot chocolate.

– What has been the best cultural experience as of late?

– I thought the movie «About Gods and Men» was fantastic. It's beased on a true story from the mid nineties. Eight Christian monks from France live their quiet lives in an old cloister deep inside the Algerian mountains. Most of their time is spent praying and singing, but the monks are also useful for the local population with their knowledge of medicin and other life wisdom. The movie moved me to tears and inspired me to get even more involved in issues concerning human rights.
