We made a new aquaintance the other day. Her name is Caroline Asplin and she has studied music in the USA for a few years. Now, she is back in Oslo with an album in her luggage. Lyrics, vocals, guitar, keyboards and violin is her contribution to Compassion (CIA Productions), dedicated to her friend, Stefanie, who vanished without a trace. A bouquet of great instrumentalists who have played with stars such as Al Jarreau accompanies tender, evocative Compassion. A well played, well arranged and sonically well done release. Caroline's powerful voice has passion and variation. Asplin's Pop-soul product is well suited to active or passive listening. You should treat yourself to this album.
